About

When Leah Hendrickson sets out to do something, she does it. And she does it well.

Leah hosts one of her several episodes of Toyota Park Today

A senior at DePaul University, Leah is well on her way to becoming a force to be reckoned with in the broadcast world. She served as host of Toyota Park Today on Chicago Fire TV during the MLS franchise’s 2011 season. In addition to interviewing athletes, coaches and fans, she helped with various communications efforts at the soccer club.

For the past three years, Leah has been an active member of Radio DePaul. The campus radio station was named The Best College Station in the Nation by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System in 2010. She attended the system’s 2011 conference in New York City to accept the awards for Best Community News and Best Newscast while serving as News Director. Presently, Leah serves as Program Director and co-hosts “The Campus Connection” which airs Fridays from 1-3 pm CST. She occasionally jumps on newscasts to help out with her former news team.

Leah was lucky enough to intern at Comcast SportsNet Chicago, for not one but two internships. In the spring of 2010 she worked alongside producers, editors and reporters where she learned the ins-and-outs of television newsroom.

The following year, Leah returned to Comcast SportsNet, this time to get her hands dirty in the wild frontier that is digital media. She spent her time contributing to and editing CSNChicago.com, managing the organization’s social media presence, and appearing on-camera for various digital features.

Before all this, Leah was selected as the youngest anchor to appear on DePaul University’s fledgling broadcast project called Good Day DePaul.
