Jeremy Lynn, web producer, Comcast SportsNet Chicago:

Leah was an ideal intern in every way possible during her time at Comcast SportsNet-Chicago.

Not only did Leah do anything and everything that was asked of her by myself and anyone else in the digital media department but she went well above and beyond as well.

Leah would often take on the tasks of our part-time web producers and even went out into the field to conduct interviews at various events including the Comcast SportsNet Sports Awards. She was also willing to write several stories to make sure timely content made its way onto our web site quickly.

Towards the end of her internship, Leah was teaching new interns how to do certain things such as run web chats or write and post a daily article titled “Word on the Street.” She consistenly proved to be a fantastic asset during her few months at CSN.

In addition, Leah really understands every sport, including both hockey and soccer and is willing to share her knowledge with anyone that may need a little help.

Leah did a fantastic job at Comcast SportsNet and is capable of doing terrific work for any company fortunate enough to hire her. I strongly recommend Leah for any position she is applying for and am extremely confident she will prove to be a fantastic employee.

Eric Seals, Illinois Prep:

Leah was a great asset to us at Illinoisprep.com. She has a Great personality, very dependable, and she did fantastic work. While working with us, she helped us produce better content for our website, and her knowledge in soccer is very valuable. The great thing about her, is she never complained once. Some of the games she attended had horrible weather, and I told her she could stay home and not to worry about the game. She felt it was her duty to cover the game and insisted that she show up.

Overall Leah is great to work with, and I look forward in working with her in the future.

Willie Parker, producer, Comcast SportsNet Chicago:

Leah and I worked together when she joined me on field producing and in-house assignments during her internship. She possessed a wonderful will to observe and learn. With that, her knowledge and abilities of production and reporting work quickly blossomed. Leah’s work ethic, energy, and her great character would be a profound asset to any broadcasting outlet.

Mike Reilley, instructor, DePaul University:

There are many things I could tell you about Leah as a digital journalist. I could tell you about all of the multimedia tools she mastered in my Online Journalism I class at DePaul. I could tell you about the excellent multimedia package on Chicago’s vinyl record stores that she and her teammates created in the class. And I could tell you about the great work she’s done as an intern at Comcast SportsNet. But the thing I would stress to you the most is that Leah is the type of person I would want working in my newsroom because of her enthusiasm and ability to work with colleagues and editors. She’s that rare mix of talent and great attitude that separates her from the field. If you are considering her for an internship or job, she’s your No. 1 draft pick. Bring her aboard. You’ll be glad you did.
